Bangers FAQ
All you have to do is show up for a run! Being in the Bangers is free!
All of our group runs start right in the middle of Oak Square, i.e. the island at the intersection of Faneuil, Washington, and Tremont Streets in Brighton!
Group runs take place Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. and Saturday mornings at 9 a.m. Wednesdays are our signature event and bring our big crowds. Saturdays tend to be a bit smaller but you'll have plenty of folks to run with either day!

On Wednesday nights, there are 3 distance options: 3 miles, ~4.5 miles, and 6 miles. On Saturdays, the distances vary depending on the attendees and their training goals. We usually have folks doing between 3 and 10 miles but sometimes we have runners doing as much as 20+ miles!
We don’t have formal pace groups, but we welcome runners of all abilities and have a wide variety of paces at our Wednesday night runs. Saturday runs tend to feature a smaller group, but if it's your first time we'll clearly explain the routes and make sure no one gets lost.
There are four great ways to make sure you never miss a fun Bangers event:
Not to worry! Collectively, our club boasts a wealth of experience when it comes to training and racing every distance from sprints to ultra-marathons, so chatting with your fellow runners is a great place to start.
The Grand Prix is a series of races throughout the year (about 1 per month) and a point system to track our progress. It’s a fun way to track group goals for the club, keep yourself motivated, and get some friendly competition going if you want to! You do not need to be fast to compete, as most points are earned for participating at team races and for setting personal bests. For additional info, check out:
